Day 57 Perth/Freemantle

It is cloudy and overcast today and suppose to rain later this afternoon.  In fact a Cyclone is coming so we decided it would not be a great day for the beach.  Instead we took the train into Perth.  We walked around a little and headed to the Apple store.  I have been trying to update my IMOVIE app since Peru and it gets almost done and stops so time to get an expert to look.

The genius (hey that’s what they are called at the apple store) tells me he has to delete the app and reinstall.  I will loose the movies I have already made but there is no other way.  If this does not work he will have to reset my IPAD and I will loose everything.  Well I don’t have a choice so I tell him to try the first one.  After quite awhile IMovie did download so I am happy that I didn’t have to loose everything on my IPAD.  The Apple store was full of the people from the ship!  Everyone trying to update all their apps as it is next to impossible on the ship. And we will have 6 sea days crossing the Indian Ocean.  I am sure also that there are no Apple stores in Mauritus, Mozambique, or Madagascar either!

Perth is a large city with all kinds of shopping but I didn’t buy anything. I only looked  in one store! After a few hours we walked back to the train station and took the train back to Freemantle and the Port.  It takes 26 minutes and when you get off you can practically touch the ship but have to walk so far to get to it.  Up and down a footbridge and all through a parking lot!  We then head to our room and get all the information we need for the Tax Scheme.  If you spent $300 in one store you get a refund of the tax you paid.  Since Bill got an oilcloth jacket, a crocodile belt and I got a leather belt we qualified so we got a copy of our passport, receipt and the items we purchased and went to wait on line to get the money refunded.  We will get a refund of $46.47.  USA does not give you back tax you spend.  I like this.  After this we headed to the Bistro for our afternoon snack coffee, tea and cheese and crackers or fruit!

We leave here at 6pm tonight and we will be crossing the Indian Ocean for 6 days.   We are starting another segment and I can’t believe how fast the time is going.  This coming segment will be the World Games.  I am not setting an alarm tomorrow and I am sleeping when I get up I get up.  If I miss knitting oh well!!!!!  We have so much coming up with parties and opening ceremony for the Olympics etc  I need to rest tomorrow.  We also have 14 hours of class this segment!  Yikes!!!!!!!

Day 56 Freemantle/Perth

Today we are in Freemantle/Perth. We were here back in12.  We had a tour to the wild animal park and Swan Valley Winery.  The park was much better than the one we did last week.  We did not have a lot of time and it was unseasonably hot 95 degrees today so the animals were not running around.  In fact the Kangaroos looked like all of us after we have one of the famous Crystal Buffets.  They were all lying down and not moving!  We did get to see 2 Albino Roos who had their Joey’s (babies) in their pouches. So that was exciting.   One was in backwards so only the legs were sticking out the other was in correctly.  We had a nice walk around and I did get some good video footage of the Koala’s eating.  After this we headed to a winery for a wine tasting.  Bill looked in the gift shop and I had one sip of wine.  It was too hot and I was tired and I didn’t care for the wine but the scenery was awesome.  Coming back on the bus……. don’t get me going……  where is Carmine when I need him.

Why do some people just because they have some money think they are better than anyone else or that they are special.  There is one couple on here if I could I would throw them overboard and I am not the only one who feels that way!!!!!!!  Apparently they are from Mexico and supposedely he is (High class)  I say he is a jackass.  He dresses all in white same outfit everyday he looks like the Good Humor ice cream man.  Okay they push their way to get the front seat of the bus and on the way back we are sitting in the row behind them.  She has her legs spread out over the bar in the front seat there is not much room I have a bag on my lap.  This COW and I don’t mean she is fat it is a British Slang which means the word that rhymes with witch.  Anyway she is spread out like she is on a 747 in business class and she decides to recline the seat.  the bag I had on my lap now goes right into my stomach causing me to loose my breath .  The tour guide asks if I am okay and this cow doesn’t say anything! I say can you please move the seat up the cow ignores me.  After I catch my breath as the bag has ripped and all my stuff is falling out.  I say ever so quietly (yep you all know me I am never quiet)  I say to Bill.  “Is she that stupid or is she just rude”?  Then I say what the heck I am a New Yorker so I put my knees into the seat and start pushing it back then I add my hands and arms.  After about 10 minutes she gets the hint and finally puts the seat in the upright position.  Let me tell you if he is what they call high class in Mexico I will take the people without any money and standing because they are rude and obnoxious!  Tomorrow when I see him I am going to order chocolate ice cream from him!

I am getting so sick and tired of some of these elitist people who think they are Special.  They are just plain RUDE.  And because I don’t know any hitmen they are still running around on the ship!

We did see some awesome beaches on our way to the winery and Bill wants to come back to one tomorrow.  We will see.  I want to go into Perth which is a 25 minute train ride!

Once again we had a great day except for the COW on the bus!  And because I would not do well in prison they are still walking around annoying everyone!!!!!!

Day 55 Albany, Australia

Today we were in Albany and our Captain did his best and got us in on time.  It was iffy because of the medical emergency yesterday we lost 4 hours.  We had a tour of the National Park and Middleton Beach.  The tour was also suppose to include a natural bridge and the blow hole.  Unfortunately the road to the natural bridge is closed due to construction and we did not go.  For some unknown reasons we went to the whaling museum café for a 45 minute coffee break.  There was hardly anything there and we did not have tickets to enter only the café and the gift shop.  Then they decide we can go to the blow hole.  Well it was reminiscent of Iguazu Falls again as it was a long walk along rocks and steps down and because it was not windy the blow holes we could hear but not see.  Then I had to walk all the way up.  Did much better than I did a  few years ago in Argentina.

Now we are running late and people are complaining they want to go to the town.  So the guide gives us a choice do we still want to go to the beach or just go to town or back to ship.  I wanted to see the beach.  5 people got off in town we drove through and I saw it all so no need to walk around.  The beach was beautiful unfortunately we only had 10 minutes and we are all wondering why we wasted 45 minutes having coffee (which was not included) when we could have been at the beach.  The scenery was breathtaking on the whole trip.  The first stop was what they call the GAP and we walked up the rocks.  It was awesome.  Andy was on our tour Ilene is not feeling well so she did not go.  We got back to the ship around 1:30 dropped off all our stuff and went met Andy for lunch at Tastes.  We sail this afternoon at 4:00pm. 

5:00pm I need to go to Hubert’s as that is when the drawing will be.  I did not win last cruise so I hope I win this one!

Albany has approximately 35,000 population and it is lovely we drove all around the coast.  We set said to Perth/Freemantle where we will arrive tomorrow around 12noon and be there overnight.

Day 54 @ sea enroute of Albany, Australia

Today was another sea day and since we turned our clocks back 90 minutes last night you would think we would be up early.  I was up by 7 but I let Bill sleep till 8:30 and then woke him up.  We headed up for breakfast and when we were finished Pat came over and she and I were talking.  They were trying to close the Lido so we headed to the Bistro to finish our conversation.  In walks Ilene and joins our party and then Nelda.  Ahh it was like the old days in 12!  After we all solved the worlds’ problems we each headed our separate ways.  As it was too late for knitting I met Bill and we were heading into lunch and Ilene was right behind us so she joined us for lunch.  Bill had gone to a couple of lectures after lunch I headed to the jewelry store and they cleaned all my diamonds for me.  I was going to go to the movie this afternoon but there was none.  We were in the cove speaking with Alissa the Crystal Society Hostess and the Captain  came on and said we needed to head back towards Adelaide to Port Lincoln as there was another medical emergency.  So we turned around and headed back.  The best line was someone asked if we had to put our clocks back the 90 minutes we just put them ahead.  We were met by a helicopter and a little while later we were informed by the Captain that the patient was doing okay. Since we lost about 4 hours the Captain put the pedal to the metal and was hauling ass.  It was a little rough because of the wind but he wanted to get us into Albany tomorrow on time.  His update said we should arrive approximately on time or 10-15 minutes late! This is the 5^th evacuation so far this trip and we are about halfway done. 
We had a great dinner in the main dining room this evening.  The show was before dinner and it was great.  We have seen this guy before his name is Steve Stevens and he is really talented.  He sings, plays trumpet, ukele, and is a comedian.  His show was great and had us crying he was so funny.  Tonight was Battle of the Sexes  Trivia and Pat, Nelda and Ilene and I were suppose to meet and play.  Ilene told me she was going to bed so I waited for Pat and Nelda.  Came back to the room and Nelda had called to say she wasn’t going to make it.  Don’t know what happened to Pat but by this time all the teams were formed so I was left out and headed to bed to work on my blog!  It is kinda rough out there as the Captain has put the pedal to the metal to make up the time we lost due to the medical emergency.

Tomorrow is another sea day and I need to go to knitting as it doesn’t look right!  here we go again!  Anyway another great day and we are at the ½ point of this world cruise
