NO INTERNET FOR ALMOST 4 DAYS POSTING A COUPLE OF DAYS TOGETHER

Day 24 Pipette, Tahiti

Today we arrived in Pipette, Tahiti. We were greeted by people dressed in their native ware playing for us and while two women handed us their native flowers that smell similar to the jasmine I had growing in our Mamie Maude home. When I was young my father had a 16 m projector someone had given him and he had a documentary movie about Tahiti.  I had always wanted to go there we were fortunate to sail there in 2008 when we did ½ of the WC and was on for 55 days then.  Since we had done the South Pacific extensively back in 08 we decided we would not book a tour but do it on our own.  There are many islands that make up Tahiti and the most beautiful is Moore, which we were not stopping at.  Pipette is a city so it is not as pretty as some of the other islands.  Since the Internet on the ship has been almost non existent (location is their reason) we walked around and went in search of an Internet café.  I needed to do some banking and pay my Amex bill.  We went to their central market and upstairs is a café with Internet.  Well ½ of the ship were there and when I tried to do my banking I was told by Chase it was not secure Wi-Fi so I could not get in.  We headed back to the tourism building and they sent me to an Internet café.  $6 for an hour.  It was fast and secure did my banking and paid some bills and then before you knew it lots of people found it.  I did get to download a few books as I was almost out of books!  It was taking forever to try to update some things and it was hot and Bill was hungry so we said the heck with it and headed back to the ship.  We had an early dinner that night as it was a big birthday for Ilene and she and Andy had planned a special birthday dinner in Silk road for 8 of us so we headed back to the ship and relaxed before dinner.  Ilene had gone to the market and had them make her a beautiful flower crown.  We had a great time at dinner, and she had the best dessert.  It is called a French wedding cake.  It was cream puffs filled with either vanilla or chocolate cream and drizzled with candy (think candy apples only clear) it was fabulous!

Another great day on this fabulous adventure!
