Auckland New Zealand Day 1

We arrived into Auckland around 6:30am.   I got a great video of us pulling into port and the tug boat that helped us.  We didn’t rush off as we did not have a tour today.  My watch battery died way before Tahiti and I have been going crazy without it.  We had the name of an authorized Omega repair place and we headed out around 10am,  we had to leave the watch it was not just replacing the battery they had to replace the seal, fix one of the links and clean the watch.  They were able to fix Bill’s watch band and put in batteries in his also .  We then proceeded to the Downtown Shopping Center where they had free wifi.  It was worse than the ship.  Gloria Jean’s coffee bar if you bought something gave you the password for free.  So we each got water and tried to download our updates on our IPADS.  I was able to update one on Bill’s IPAD  2 hours later it was still not moving so we decided we will wait till Sydney or Melbourne and go to the Apple Store.  We won’t need the apps till the next segment.  We have an overnight and tomorrow 204 people are getting off and 218 are getting on including 60 from the Chinese equivilant of Google.  I hear last time there were problems.  we will see.

Today we got a letter about our first World Cruise Shore Side Event to be held in Tauranga, New Zealand.  They are taking us to Hobbiton.  This is the set where they filmed the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies.  We will have the whole place to ourselves.  We will have an extensive walking tour and cocktails, hot and cold canapés.  A show and not sure what else is in store for us.  Should be a fun evening and of course because there might not be enough to eat they will have a buffet set up when we return at 11pm.

Tomorrow we have a tour for most of the day.  Will let you know about that.

We are having a fabulous time and again I have to say how blessed we are.
